Poll: What is your primary web browser?
I use alot of social networking sites, and most of them load pretty fast. I decided to run a little test to see which sites loaded the fastest (this is a gotta-have-it-now culture right?). The results are pretty interesting, here they are, with the screen captures of the full tests.
I performed these tests on a weekday around 4:40pm- I figured that’s when everyone would be browsing the web while awaiting the end of the day.

Yes, it’s true- I, like many other fools this weekend waited haplessly in line for the new iPhone 3G, but unlike some others, I actually got one! Needless to say its the coolest thing since dry ice, but I’ll get more into that in a future post. For the time being i want to talk about something the iPhone is critically lacking, Flash. And thus, Grooveshark.
While iPhone does have some cool apps, the coolest by far would be a Grooveshark iPhone application. Currently Grooveshark is build in Flex, which runs in the flash player so there is no way to enjoy crunch Grooveshark tunes on your iPhone, which is a big downer for me. Hi my name is Dan Wasyluk and I’ve been a Grooveshark addict for about 3months.
Why is Grooveshark for the iPhone such a killer idea? Simple: space. Memory us limited on the iPhone, and filling it with music AND video really limits what you can carry in your pocket, especially if you have a tiny 8gig phone like me. A Grooveshark iPhone app would let you carry a huge library of music in your pocket at all times, and with snazzy new 3G support you can really stream music to the phone much more efficiently.
Never used Grooveshark before? Check it out! Then, head to my iPhone feature suggestion and vote it up so we can make this dream into a reality. The Grooveshark Team has always been very responsive to the needs of the community so if we raise our voices together, we may just see Grooveshark swimming its way to the iPhone sooner than later.
You like free music? I sure do. The only thing I like more is free music anywhere I go. That is exactly what grooveshark provides, think of the popular “Pandora” but on steroids. Grooveshark is a streaming music player that is 100% free and allows users to listen to any song their heart desires at the click of a button.
I have never been a huge “Internet Music” guy but I kept forgetting to bring my iPod to the office @ work and this was my solution, and I must say it is awesome. It’s like a web-based iTunes that lets you play full songs. There is an immense collections of music- I have yet to find a tune that Grooveshark didn’t have, from the major artists to the hole-in-the-wall garage bands. Because GS is user-powered your apt to find any music your heart desires there, and you can listen to the whole songs for free, even make and save your own play lists to share. How is this legal? I’m not exactly sure, and because Grooveshark is relatively new who knows what copyright/DRM issues they may encounter when they gain more enough attention.
For now its just a great service that allows you to get favorite jams wherever you have a computer with internet access and flash player installed (GS is built in Adobe Flex). Think I’m pullin you leg? Jam out with Grooveshark right now!
Finally a judge uses the social media boom to bring justice to some punks…need i say more?
Have you seen the new Firefox? Did you know there is a new Firefox? Of course you did! Because you’re web-saavy and always on top of the trends! But if you haven’t seen yet, Firefox 3 RC2 is available for download in a myriad of languages, and boasts quite a few new features as well as dramatic performance improvements especially in the javascript realm.
Still using IE? It sucks! What are you thinking?! Ditch Internet Exploder and jump on Firefox today!
