IDA Final: Funny Father’s Day Short

I’ve been smothered in the horror that is week 10 and finals week here at RIT. I’m just about through it with lots more to post about, but in the meantime I’ll keep this one short. This is my Intro to Digital Animation final project, as usual it was a bit rushed because I’m taking 20 credit hours and I’ve got final projects in all my classes but here it is.

The assignment was a humorous father’s day short about an experience we’ve had with our dad. This is actually based on a true story so I thought it would work well. I was going for a “South Park” feel, and came up a bit short on sound but that’s always a bitch.

Are These Parents on Crack?

This random posting is sponsored by the good folks at ‘Wife Swap’ a TV show who’s premise is this- take two families which are polar opposites, swap the wives, and watch the mayhem unfold. The show is complete drivel but can prove quite entertaining, it’s amazing the kind of quacks they find. Here is a particularly sad and repugnant clip about a soulless void who resides in upstate NY (for shame! in my own state!). It was so horrendous, I had to share.

Watch the subtitles, they document the clip well. I find it ironic that such a horrible person is a “beauty queen”. I don’t know what is worse, the girl, or the parents. Thoughts?

This is a quick animation I developed for a class I’m taking this quarter “Intro. to Digital Animation”. The class deals primarily with adobe Adobe After Effects. I’ve use Adobe Premiere and Apple video products before so After Effects wasn’t entirely foreign to me but definitely has some unique features.

This is supposed to be a “slate” or something that’s used to brand our future pieces. I really liked the ability to use 3d and the camera so this piece makes use of those features.

Responsibilities: All Video Design / Motion / Sound
