iPhone OS 2.2 is on the way! Yay! Well… sorta. The mighty Apple has already released a list of new things we can expect to see in 2.2 but unfortunately, many of the features people are clamoring for are still not there. Here are a few we are all still waiting for…sigh.

1. Copy & Paste
Perhaps the most highly anticipated feature. The ability to copy and paste seems like a no brainer for the iPhone, with its multi-touch capable interface it should be as simple as touch and drag to select text, double tap to copy, press and hold to paste. People wanted it in 2.0, they bitched about it not being in 2.1 and yes, we are still bitching about it not being there in 2.2. When will Apple get the message?

2. Landscape SMS and Email Keyboard
Some third party apps give users the ability to use landscape keyboard in emails but support for native landscape emails and sms messages is still a pipe dream. Apple already has the landscape keyboard implemented in safari, why not extend that to ALL keyboard-based input screens?

3. Turn by Turn Directions
iPhone 2.2 promises Google street view and walking directions. So the phone can tell you where you are and turn by turn directions to get you where you want to be, but it can’t do that for you while your in a moving car?

4. Native Key-Vibe
This is just a simple feedback feature, you press a key, you get a little phone-vibration as feedback. Jailbroken phones already sport this ability but it seems like something that should have been a native option from the start.

5. Improved Service Updates
The refresh rate on iPhone service is still awful. I can walk out of my building where I have 0 bars into the heart of the city where there is full 3G coverage, and I still see “No Service” for a good 5 minutes?! It’s a sad day when you have to throw the phone in/out of airplane mode just so it detects its own network.

iPhone OS 2.2 will have some cool features and stability upgrades, but it will also be missing alot of things that I was hoping to see in this release.

i’ve scoured all yarn covered corners of the intertubes to find some of the best examples of knit/crochet graffiti (legal or otherwise), we’ll start with a video from a crew by the name of knitta please, a renowned and nimble fingered group of rebels who have been covering public property with guerilla knitting for some time.

Whew it’s been a while eh? Life’s been throwing me some curve balls lately so blog posts have been few and far between but hopefully that will change soon. Let me give you a small update on what the hell I’ve been doing!

Life – Is Good! I’ve been mostly working the 9-5 @ Decision Lens and loving it. The commute is a bitch but I’ll be moving out to Arlington, Virginia December 1st, so I can put up with it for the next few months. Also I have been hard at work getting a new look together and some cool new features in place for The College Blog Network, hoping to make the changes public soon, oh if there were only more hours in the day!

Work – Is awesome. I love my job, the people I work with are awesome and the city I work in is amazing, clean and quiet yet full of people. I have been kicking ass and taking names as far as my work schedule goes, I’ve managed to get wayyy ahead of schedule and that means some sweet new features for our clients which they weren’t slated to get for months. We are planning a big release for Monday and after that the whole company is going out to the Audi Driving Event where I’ll get to tear up the track in an S5 and R8 as a teambuilding exercise… gotta love that!

So anyway, enough with the lame life updates, lets get to the good stuff. At present I have a pretty wicked commute into work, about 70-120min one-way depending on traffic, and in a crappy ‘98 civic with no A/C in 90F heat. So, in order to get my mind off the brutal situation I find myself in twice a day, I put together a banging playlist to get me through the traffic/heat I thought I’d share since I know many of my fellow TCBN bloggers may also be finding themselves in similar situations.

I would normally pepper in some Jason Mraz too but I overplayed the hell out of his new stuff last week so, he’s on the shelf for now. Also keep an eye out for a blog redesign, it’s about time this thing got a change of clothes. Rock on!
