Here is a quick poster layout / background I did for my buddy’s senior project poster (printed at 40″x32″). He just wanted a background he could add his text and images into. I whipped it up pretty quick, can you say Microelectronic Engineering meets Web 2.0?

My buddy is the president of the RIT Microelectronic Engineering Student Association (MESA). He does a lot of work for the group and was looking to develop a more print-friendly logo. The old logo was just text against a photograph background which didn’t print well. He didn’t want just any kind of printing though, he wanted a logo that would print well via micro lithography (which basically prints based on shades of gray, on a silicon wafer).

I worked with him and created this logo for his use, nothing fancy but works well and came out great when printed on the wafer (and standard printing as well). Now he actually has a vector file to work with instead of a low-res jpg

Needless to say i want my wallpaper to look good, but at this resolution finding hi-res FREE wallpapers is damn near impossible. So I started making my own wallpapers and posting them for others to use!

The site is based in html/php/mysql and there is a back end CMS [Content Managerment System] which allows me to easily add and edit wallpaper entries. I want to eventually turn it into a public “community” site where everyone can upload but I just haven’t had the time yet!
